JOIN THE PICHILEMU INSTITUTE OF LANGUAGE STUDIES TEAM
We are currently looking for a volunteer team member to support us with teaching and customer service tasks this summer (December 2017 through the end of February, or March 2018). We are ideally looking for someone who is looking to gain more experience teaching different ages and levels while experiencing immersing themselves in Chilean culture. An ideal candidate is also proficient in Spanish and will help us with reception work.
THE SCHOOL AND ESL PROGRAM
Our ESL program is a community-oriented project that has been offering quality and accessible classes for over a decade. Teachers on our team love facilitating learning and want to provide a great experience to everyone. We are a small, but close team who love what we do. Our students’s ages and levels are very diverse. Class size is small (one to seven students maximum). The school is located in downtown Pichilemu, and functions as a multicultural space since we offer both ESL to locals, and Spanish language classes to foreigners from around the world.
OUR COMMUNITY
Pichilemu is an oasis of coastal living in the center of Chile. The Mapudungun word means small forest. Nature, countryside and history come together in this enchanting tourist town in Central Chile. Pichilemu holds on to many cultural traditions rarely seen in other parts of Chile. Despite the deep campesino traditions, modern life is rapidly coming to this town.
Pichilemu offers a variety of activities year round. There are many options for ocean activities, surfing being the most popular. Punta de Lobos, a World’s surfing reserve is around the corner. The town has long, dark sand beaches where relaxing while watching a beautiful sunset is a must-do.
