Assistant Language Teacher

Candidates for the Assistant Language Teacher position may or may not have teaching experience, but must have a four-year degree (any major) and enjoy working with children in a structured school environment and have a strong sense of adventure! No Japanese language knowledge required. Through Teach Abroad, college graduates sign 1-2 year contracts (beginning in September and ending in August each year with the chance to renew) with the Himeji Board of Education. They will then travel to and live in Himeji, where they will assist in teaching English at the local elementary, middle, and high schools. Airfare is paid to/from Japan and a modern apartment building is subsidized for program participants, which include fellow Arizonians, Brits, Canadians, and Australians!

Applicants must be:
A US citizen
A resident of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area (AZ)
A native English speaker or speak English fluently
A 4 year degree (any major) is also required as well as a valid passport and form of ID.

No teaching experience or knowledge of the Japanese language is required.
