ESL Teacher

The Universidad de la Sierra Juárez (UNSIJ) in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico is looking for a full-time English Teacher to start in April 2018. Suitable candidates will be native speakers with a University Degree and a Teaching Certificate (TEFL, CELTA or equivalent). Responsibilities include planning and teaching classes for University-level EFL students. Benefits include a competitive local salary ($14,000 MXN monthly net), a national health insurance plan, five + weeks paid vacation, summer and winter bonuses, pension, and the possibility of tenure after 1 year. In addition, a generous monthly savings plan is provided to the newly hired Teacher.

UNSIJ is located about an hour from Oaxaca City in the beautiful area of Ixtlán de Juárez (http://www.viveoaxaca.org/2017/12/Ixtlan.html), a colonial pueblo surrounded by mountains and forest. The University is small, offering five majors; Environmental Science, Biology, Forestry, Wood Technology, Computer Science and a Masters in Forestry. English is a requirement for all majors.
