Job Description

Multiple Teaching Positions

Saint John Mary International School (SJMIS) is a small international school in Saraburi Province, 100 kilometers north of Bangkok. We are a private, co-educational institution offering an American curriculum to both day and boarding students on a well-equipped and spacious campus.

We serve students from Pre-K through grade 12 following the American Common Core State Standards, and monitor student achievement with twice-yearly MAP testing in the areas of Mathematics, Reading, and Language Usage. We are fully WASC accredited, and work throughout the academic divisions to produce students who embody the School-Wide Learning Results set forth by our board.

We are seeking to interview for:

1. an innovative and qualified secondary school science teacher. We want a hardworking and enthusiastic teaching professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the California State Standards as they relate to a secondary school science curriculum. The position will involve teaching students directly, as well as assisting in the supervision and direction of extra-curricular activities, including the STEAM lab. The successful applicant will be a motivated individual with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning in English and excel in science.

2. a qualified secondary school math and accounting teacher. We are looking for an organised, qualified teacher with a solid grasp of mathematics as well as accounting practices. Understanding and use of effective strategies in the area of differentiation is required, and experience with an American curriculum and standards-based teaching is preferred. This position will include extra-curricular activities, as well.

3. a social studies and English teacher for secondary school. We are looking for a creative and energetic teacher who can make topics in social studies come alive and engage students in meaningful learning activities. Ability to explain literary and poetic elements in clear and simple terms is a must. Experience with backward planning and understanding by design is required. Teachers who are interested in participating in our after school program are strongly preferred.

All successful secondary candidates will have training and experience with differentiated learning, backward design, and student-centered learning, and the ability to foster critical thinking skills and a growth mindset in students. Most importantly, they will maintain high academic expectations for students, and insist on academic integrity in practice and product.
Please apply directly to jacqueline@sjmis.ac.th with full resume/CV and all supporting documentation (degree, certificates, and main page of your passport for nationality confirmation).

4. a qualified Early Childhood Education teacher to join our preschool. We are looking for a native speaker with at least 2 years of teaching experience and a sound understanding of the developmental needs of children between the ages of 2 years and 6 years old.
This position is fully self-contained using an integrated curriculum based on a relevant theme, as well as after school activities relevant to the age group or specific needs of the students. The successful applicant will be a loving and caring individual who creates a safe and secure environment for her students.
