The Job

We are now looking for enthusiastic and passionate teachers to teach at our public schools in Changzhou. In today’s economy, a global perspective is almost as important as your educational qualifications. Our schools consist of a public elementary, middle school and high schools. Teachers will mainly be teaching elementary and middle school students. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to spend a year teaching, learning and making a difference in China by becoming Educational Ambassadors. Each week, up to twenty hours are dedicated to teaching, ten hours are spent in the office or in support of student’s activities and the rest are allotted for collaborative or self-directed pursuits, such as language learning, exploration and community engagement. As a newcomer to China, the strong support network that we provide will be invaluable.

Changzhou – The City
Changzhou is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of China's Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city, located in southern Jiangsu, with a population of 3 million people. Changzhou is located in southern Jiangsu, just an hour’s train ride from Shanghai and also close to Nanjing and Hangzhou.

Changzhou Benniu Airport is located in Changzhou City. At present, there are more than 20 large and medium-sized cities flight route such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Dalian, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Haikou and Xi'an. The Changzhou Railway Station is located in Shanghai-Nanjing line, and the eastern part of the country's large and medium-sized cities are almost all train connected. Changzhou-Shanghai, Changzhou - Tongling, Changzhou - Shanghai, etc. Most people from other cities can also take the train to Changzhou.

Changzhou has hundreds of tourist attractions, including numerous administrative, military, religious, historical sites and scenic spots, such as Tianning Temple, Maoshan Cave, Tianmuhu and Hongmei Pavilion.

Main Responsibilities
-Average of 30 working hours per week
-20 hours classroom teaching per week (45 minutes per class)
-10 hours per week of on-campus teaching related and supportive activities (including lesson   preparation, homework grading, office hours, school activities, etc.)
-Monday to Friday schedule
-Student age: teachers will mainly be teaching elementary (grade 1 – 3) & middle school (grade 7 – 8) students
-Lesson planning, creating course outlines
-Deliver classes in a fun and creative way

Compensation
-Monthly Salary: 12,000 RMB per month (before tax)
-Free accommodation provided by the school
-Airfare reimbursement provided after contract completion: 7,500 RMB
-Airport pick up
-All national holidays and winter vacation (Chinese new year) with full payment
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
-Health Insurance provided
-Three meals provided at the school’s cafeteria during work schedule
-Professional pre-job training with on-going program supervision provided

Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree required
-TEFL certificate OR at least two years teaching experience
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, NZ, Canada, Australia, Ireland
-Energetic, enthusiastic and creative
-Clean criminal record
-Highly motivated with the ability to face challenges
