The American University of Kuwait (AUK) is a private university in Kuwait organized on the U.S. model of undergraduate liberal arts education. The medium of instruction is English. The Intensive English Program (IEP) prepares students seeking admittance to AUK in English proficiency and is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences. The IEP has full accreditation from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), and AUK is accredited by the Council for Private Universities of the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM
Requirements:
Intensive English Program (Position Code No. 19-121- ESLCAFE 01): The successful candidate must hold at least a Master’s Degree in English as Second Language or related field, and TESOL/CELTA certification is strongly preferred. Candidates must have strong teaching skills, outstanding communication abilities with a native-like speaker fluency in written and spoken English, excellent motivational and instructional skills. Preferred 2 years’ experience teaching in a post-secondary institution of higher learning, including experience in teaching English as a Second Language, with diverse and multicultural communities are preferred. The applicant must also be proficient in computer skills. All short-listed applicants must be reviewed and approved by our affiliate, Dartmouth College.
Duties:
The instructor is responsible for teaching the assigned curriculum. Other duties include, but are not limited to, planning, evaluating assigned coursework in the program’s skills/content-based courses, participating in program assessment initiatives, and University service.

1) Cover letter, detailing the candidate’s specific interest in AUK, and how the candidate’s past experience provides a suitable basis for performance in the position for which they are applying;
2) A current CV;
3) Statement of teaching methodology, including curricular development that the individual has initiated and executed and a statement of research and service;
4.) Copies of teaching evaluations if available;
5) The names and contact information, both electronic and postal, of three references; and
6) Two writing samples or recent publications.
