TEFL/CELTA Teachers: Arequipa, Peru

Come experience Amazing Peru!

ELC is looking for four more TEFL/CELTA certified native-English-speaking teachers to begin May 1st and June 1st, 2019. While we do hire throughout the year, we are looking for qualified, energetic teachers who can work in a team, still manage their own students independently and join us soon.

Arequipa is a beautiful city in the Andes Mountains with spring-like temperatures year around. We are only a one hour flight from Cusco and Lima, but we are proud to have the best weather in the country. Our city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the history and natural beauty of our area is outstanding.

Peru is a developing nation so our students can't pay a lot for classes. Thus, we cannot provide airfare or housing. That said, we have excellent hourly pay for the local economy (approximately $5 to $6 USD, depending on the fluctuating exchange rate). To better understand the economy, Peruvian minimum wage is approximately $1.30 per hour. We also have various housing contacts at good prices. Our teachers don't have a problem living on their wages. Airport pickup is provided, along with a full orientation training program and support from our two academic coordinators, client services manager and general manager. We have a full curriculum, materials and exams for every level. Teachers usually teach 6 hours per day, 18 weekdays per month, plus 3 hours on 4 Saturdays per month.
