Younger Learners Program Coordinator Position Description
The American Language Center, Marrakech is seeking a dynamic and energetic native English speaker to coordinate the Younger Learners program beginning September 2020. The desired candidate will be TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certified with international teaching experience and experience working with children aged 5-7.
Position Responsibilities:
- Teach 3 Younger Learner classes per regular session (Fall/Winter/Spring), plus 3 classes in Adult program per regular session
- Collaborate with Children’s Program Coordinator on designing and implementing Young Learner programs
- Provide head coordinator, managers, and director with guidance and recommendations on program and curriculum
- Manage class schedules and teacher assignments for each session
- Conduct ongoing pre-service and in-service training for teachers
- Organize team teaching, peer and formal observations
- Develop materials and resources for program
- Support administration with registration, scheduling, and assignments
- Manage Younger Learner outdoor activities’ assistant and program
- Manage budget for Children’s/Younger Learner’s program with Children’s Program coordinator
Required Qualifications
- BA + TEFL certificate (at least 120-hr program with guided teaching practice), or MA in TEFL-related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Minimum 1 year of experience, 2 years desirable, teaching English to Young Learners, preferably full-time and preferably Very Young Learners (ages 5-7)
- Strong administrative, organizational, management & IT skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and support staff/assistants and mentor new teachers
- Course/curriculum design
- Experience working with budgets
Desired Qualifications
- Experience communicating with a wide range of people on a variety of topics both formally and informally
- Conversational French (liaising with government representatives); Knowledge of Arabic a plus
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

- Monthly salary in dirhams

- Lead clubs for students - weekly meetings conducted in English on a wide variety of topics (such as US History & Culture or Movies).
- Assist with projects such as exam proofreading and involvement in our English for the Vision-Impaired Program
