Universidad del Mar (UMAR) is a regional Mexican University located on the southern coast of the state of Oaxaca in the small coastal town of Bahias de Huatulco. We are looking for a creative and hard-working professional to form part of a team of language teachers at the university. We want an individual who is interested in obtaining tenure at the University and becoming part of the permanent staff rather than someone who is a transient teacher. Only serious candidates should apply.

This position provides attractive benefits such as an annual bonus, a savings plan, a pension, healthcare and five weeks paid holiday.
The candidate must be a native English speaker & have a B.A. + CELTA/TEFL/TESOL Certification or an M.A. in a relevant field and some classroom teaching experience, preferably with young adult students.
Our English program is heavily based on grammar as all students must get a required score on a TOEFL style exam in order to graduate. We are looking for a teacher with experience in teaching grammar and can make learning fun by using PPT presentations and other many stimulating activities.
Wage: Most teachers earn $14,250 MXN per month after taxes, which is a very competitive local salary. Salaries are paid in Mexican peso via direct deposits into personal bank accounts every 15th and last day of the month.
The start date is for February 2020; however, the process to obtain a work visa in Mexico can take some time and must be started as soon as possible.
Please e-mail your CV, a cover letter, a copy of your passport, your BA, your teaching certificate and a letter of recommendation. If you are interested in the job and you can foresee yourself making Huatulco a long-term home, please e-mail: daphne.goumas@gmail.com
