EFL teacher: Universidad de la Sierra Juárez

The Universidad de la Sierra Juárez (UNSIJ) of Oaxaca is looking for a full-time English teacher to join its Language Department this February. Working hours are Monday to Friday with 20-25 contact hours/week. Responsibilities include planning lessons, creating materials for activities, keeping attendance and grades, and participating in the odd extracurricular activity (English Club, Tourism Day, etc.). Benefits include 5 weeks of paid vacation, holiday bonuses, and medical coverage with a savings and pension plan. Qualified applicants should be native English speakers and hold a BA/BS and English teaching certificate (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) or an MA/ME.

UNSIJ is located about an hour from Oaxaca City in Ixtlán de Juárez in the Sierra. The region’s main industries are logging and ecotourism, with hiking trails and guided tours in and between nearby pueblos. For variety, Oaxaca City has restaurants, museums, historical sites and cultural events like Day of the Dead and Guelaguetza.
