Our students come mostly from Europe and the skills they bring afford an excellent perspective of the products of different coaching and educational systems.
These jobs are ideal for those starting out in coaching looking to develop and gain experience – you may also be in the process of completing a PGCE or an undergraduate degree with a view of embarking on a PGCE next year. Ideally you will hold a coaching qualification (or equivalent) in your area of expertise or are a high achiever in your chosen sport.
Each sport’s department is run by a highly experienced Head Coach and this is an excellent opportunity to build up your coaching portfolio.
We are also looking for staff with excellent organisational skills to help co-ordinate our summer camps during the summer period. This could mean ensuring the organisation, co-ordination and delivery of the evening entertainment programme; administrative support to the organisation of the day-to-day running of the camps; or pastoral and welfare support of the students.
Our staff leave us with a wealth of new knowledge that stands them in very good stead for future employment, so it's a great addition to your CV as well as a way to earn some money in a short term contract over the summer holidays!
We need responsible self-starters keen to both lead parts of sessions and also learn from experienced colleagues as well as get involved in other aspects of a residential summer camp such as evening entertainment and weekend excursions.
Summer camp is a brilliant, high energy, fast-moving environment and you’ll be working in a large team of coaches, teachers, entertainment staff and many more – you’ll need to be of responsible nature, be flexible and accommodating in your approach to working with non-native English speaking children and be enthusiastic and willing to get involved in all aspects of camp.
Staff are given their own room in one of the boarding houses, all meals and access to the camps' sports facilities during their free time. All staff work a 6 day week and contract lengths range from 2 to 7 weeks. Camps run from 26th June - 13th August, with a 2-day staff induction programme prior to the first student arrivals.
Exsportise is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Staff will be required to assist with pastoral care by taking responsibility for a group of students and looking after their welfare throughout their stay at camp.
• A University degree in any discipline is preferred
• Must have basic office & admin skills (telephone, typing, data entry)
• Highly organised and responsible character with excellent time management skills
• The ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, highly changeable, highly pressured and often challenging environment is essential
• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• Strong leadership skills and be able to manage and motivate staff who are on events duty
• Excellent communication skills with people of all levels
• Able to deal well with pressure and to multi-task
• Enthusiastic, friendly, proactive and able to set high standards
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours
