Early Grades Teachers to Teach in Bilingual Elementary Program

For our school campuses in Turkey

We are seeking qualified Early Childhood and Early Grades teachers to teach in our bilingual immersion program, both aiming to develop learners’ English language skills and at the same time helping them to become inquiring, independent and respectful learners with global values and perspectives.

The position will involve teaching students between the ages of 4 and 14 in early childhood and early grades curriculum with a special focus on English language immersion. A suitable candidate should be in possession of and able to exemplify the following:

• Appropriate teaching and academic qualifications for young learners

• Bilingual/multilingual skills or experience teaching EAL (English as an Additional Language) students

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Enthusiasm, passion for teaching, and flexibility

• A global citizen with interest and respect for Turkish culture and values

• Team-oriented work ethic and collaboration skills

• An understanding of technology and its use to enhance teaching and learning

The positions involve the following:

• 40 hour work week, 20 – 25 classroom hours per week

• 15 – 20 children per class

• Start Date: September 2014

• 2 year contract

Qualifications:

• An ESL teaching qualification, such as TEFL/CELTA

• A teaching license is preferred, but not required

• A minimum of 1 year experience

• A university degree

• Native English speaker
