About Quy Nhon
Quy Nhon (population approx 300,000) has one of the most relaxed lifestyles of any city in Vietnam. Surrounded by hills with lovely beaches, numerous cafés and restaurants and stunning coastal drives to the north and south it is one of the undiscovered treasures of Vietnam. There’s a small but growing expat community here (Facebook: “Quy Nhon Expats” and “Expats and Locals in Quy Nhon”). The cost of living is quite low compared to the big cities in Vietnam. Houses can be rented for under USD200 per month and a furnished apartment for around USD300. The city also offers some of the tastiest, freshest and most inexpensive seafood in Vietnam. Traffic is more tolerable and the crime rate is much lower than in any of the big cities. Quy Nhon is well positioned as a base from which to travel around Vietnam. The local airport is well-served by the major airlines in Vietnam and air fares are quite low. We’re also just off the Hanoi-Saigon railway line - four hours to Nha Trang and six hours to Da Nang by rail.
