Immediate Need for Experienced ESL Teacher
English Volunteers for Change (EVOLC) in Costa Rica
Immediate Need for Experienced ESL Teacher
The program English Volunteers for Change (EVOLC) is driven by the Foundation for Sustainability and Equity (ALIARSE), and Costa Rica MultilingĂĽe, which is a national program initiated by former President and Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Oscar Arias, to make Costa Rica a multilingual country in the coming years. The program aims to contribute to improving the level of English in the rural communities, public schools, and poorest sectors of the country. It is developed under the context of public-private partnerships with chambers of tourism, schools, and local partners who give support to the initiative.
EVOLC is now looking for two volunteer teachers to teach English at a public school in Costa Rica. This is not a paid position, it is a volunteer position. As compensation for the services offered, the school will be responsible for all of the expenses of the volunteer. As a result, this is a no cost program to the volunteers, aside from anything the volunteers choose to do in their free time such as dining out, weekend trips, etc. To ensure that the volunteer fulfills the time commitment, we do require a $500 deposit fee that will be returned upon successful completion of the contract. If the volunteer resigns before the completion of the contract, the deposit will not be returned.
