New York English Learning Center (New York ELC), a relatively new non-profit academic institution dedicated to helping students understand the English language. In many schools, there are 40-50 students per classroom and they don’t learn. Here the policy is no more than 10 per classroom.
New York ELC seeks qualified EFL teachers to begin mid-September for a minimum of five months.
Loja: 160k inhabitants. Loja is the city of music and culture and one of the friendliest cities I know. 30 mins away is Vilcabamba and Malacatos. Vilcabamba is a haven for retirees and foreigners in general. It is called the Village of Long Life, some of its inhabitants are over 100 years old and its known for its healing springs. There are lots of museums etc, bars, restaurants. Its not a noisy city though. Not sure if this website is any good but you could check it out http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ecuador/the-southern-highlands/loja/th ings-to-do
Climate: Around 25-30 degrees C. However, being in the mountains it seems hotter. It can be cool in the mornings/evenings so a jacket, a couple of sweaters are advisable.
Catamayo: There are about 30000 inhabitants and it is known as the town of eternal sun. Weather is around 26-33 degrees most of the year round. As it is smaller than Loja there is a friendly feel to it and you can walk into the city center quite comfortably. There is a water park really close by on the outskirts of Catamayo.
Macas is the capital of Morona Santiago province in south eastern Ecuador. The city is also the seat of the county Morona. Known as the "Emerald of the East" due to its location east of the Andes mountains, Macas lies in the Upano Valley overlooking the Upano river. Again this is a small city with around 30,000 inhabitants. transportation hub for small jungle communities to the east. n recent years, Macas also developed a small tourism industry based on jungle trekking, trips to indigenous communities, and extreme sports like rafting.
This is a start-up situation.

Instructors teach at least four classes a day and are able to request additional classes and/or tutorials, if available. New York ELC is a non-profit organization and while teachers don’t earn a lot of money by international standards, they do earn enough to live comfortably in Ecuador and gain much in teaching experience and cultural exchange.
Other perks include salary paid every week and accommodation would be discounted, free wireless internet access. Visa and airfare fees are the teacher's responsibility. However, New York ELC will help teachers on tourist visas secure an intercultural visa or volunteer visa in order to teach in Ecuador.
