Who wouldn't want to teach English in Greece? Greece is a very popular tourist spot, a beautiful country with a long rich history. Greece offers English teachers a laid-back lifestyle, siestas, beautiful long sandy beaches, and ancient ruins.

As with other countries teacher from the EU will have a relatively easy time finding jobs, but other passport holders may find it a bit more difficult and problematic.

As Greece is such apopular destination, there is strong competition for ESL jobs in Greece. Most positions are advertised locally with the peak hiring months being January and June. To find a job in Greece it would be best to be in the country at these times and apply direct to the schools.

Most schools require a uni degree along with TESOL/TESL certification. The teaching week is quite a long one varying from 25-32 teaching hours per week. Money is also quite low, a trade of for the beautiful location you are teaching in and due to the economy and strong competition for positions. Wages are around 500-1000 EUR per month, with the estimated cost of living 400-500 EUR.
