There are good amount of teaching positions available in Bahrain, a small, oil rich island nation situated in the persian gulf. There is a high demand for qualified and experienced tefl English teachers, but there can be competition to landing positions teaching English in Bahrain.
Positions are most frequently available in Government ministries, language training centres, universities, schools and in company. Pay is based on experience and qualifications but can be expected to be in the range of 520-700 BHD (Bahrain Dinars), which amounts to around $1380-1860 monthly.
While an islamic country, Bahrain is much more liberal and modern than some of it's gulf partners and can be a good starting spot in the region for people looking at teaching in the Middle-East.
