Turkey provides an eclectic mix of East and West - European and Asian culture for English teachers who take the opportunity to teach there. Wages are very low in Turkey so don't expect to save much money to go home with, although you will be able to live quite comfortably as living expenses are low. Expect on making in the range of 1,300-1,700 TRL (around $950-1,250 USD) per month, and spending around 650-900 TRY on living expenses every month.
As Turkey strives to enter the EU, much of the population wants to learn more English, and there is demand for Native English teachers with the students being Business People, School students and younger children. Most schools are looking for for teachers with a TEFL/TESOL certificate and a degree from their own country. However you may be able to find work just because you are a Native speaker without these qualifications.
