Teach English in Egypt

With one of the longest histories in civilisation, Egypt offers alot culturally for any English Teacher looking at teaching there. The demand for English teachers is high in Egypt, with Egypt offering the best salaries in North Africa for ESL teachers. With Cairo having a population of 16 million, there are a number of private language centres to cater to them, and therefore are numerous positions to be filled and plenty of opportunities for out of the classroom private tutoring lessons.

Most of the better standard private schools, require the teachers to be native English speakers and to hold a university degree along with some form of TEFL/TESOL/CELTA study and certification. Positions are a bit easier to find if you are already in the country, and the best time to look for the positions are either around January or September .

Wages for teaching English in Egypt are high and range from 7,000 - 17,000 EGP (1,200 - 2,900 USD)  per month. The cost of living in Egypt can be estimated at around 3-4,000 EGP.
